Kevin provides functional behaviour assessments for individuals presenting with problematic behaviour. The primary aim of these assessments is to identify what exactly motivates a person to behave in a particular way. Following this assessment, a behaviour support plan is developed. This plan places an emphasis on replacing problematic behaviours and teaching new skills. Parents, teachers and/or therapists are trained on how to implement the plan with regular support from Kevin.
Children with developmental delays often present with weak or missing developmental milestones. Kevin uses standardised developmental skills assessments to identify precisely what skills need to be prioritised and taught. He then develops a tailored curriculum and delivers one to one direct intervention. Examples of missing skills in young children include speech delays, poor eye contact and non-responding to name.
Parents of young children with developmental delays and/or behavioural difficulties often need help in developing the skills needed to help their child to thrive. Kevin provides parent training sessions that teach parents strategies and techniques rooted in the principles of behaviour analysis. This training is directed at the child’s specific needs so that intervention can be incorporated into everyday life.
Kevin provides assessment, training and consultation for children receiving home tuition and July provision. This can be conducted within the clinic or if more suitable, the clients own home. Individual training and group workshops are available to the family and their team of teachers/tutors and are based upon the child’s individual needs and learning objectives.
The assessment and diagnostic process can be very daunting for parents. Kevin provides support to parents on coming to terms with a diagnosis and offers practical advice on accessing state supports, supporting siblings and school placements etc.
Kevin provides training to a range of professionals looking to develop their skills in the area of behaviour support. His courses are delivered to schools, residential centres and various other agencies working with children and young people.
Kevin provides comprehensive risk assessments and court reports in cases of child protection and youth offenders.
